Silent Sky

Feb. 16 - March 18, 2018

Based on the life and discoveries of astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt, Silent Sky is comical, clever and cosmic. A period piece that transcends the turn of the 19th century into the 20th and echoes the gender gaps of today. We begin our astral journey when Henrietta is offered a job at the Harvard Observatory in the changing America of 1900. Torn between leaving her sister behind and pressing on into the future, she finds herself analyzing astronomical data in a lab with two brilliant women colleagues. While she lusts for the telescope but is forced into grunt work by her male superiors, we follow Henrietta’s journey through the cosmos and into her epic scientific discoveries.
